Engineering Service-Learning at Montana de Luz Information Session

Monday, October 02, 2017, 4:00PM - 5:00PM

The Engineering Service-Learning at Montana De Luz study abroad program gives students an opportunity to apply their skills and knowledge in a way that serves the needs of others. The program is open to students of all majors and backgrounds (though some preference may be given to engineering students), and it will take place during spring break. It is set up to be an exciting, hands-on experience that engages students in assisting with technological and electrical improvements at an orphanage where students will engage with the children who are living with HIV/AIDS. There will be a course in the spring to prepare students for the travel portion of the program which includes guest lecturers, research and team activities focused around problem solving and service-learning. Students will work on projects defined by the community to identify sustainable solutions for various technological, electrical and logistical problems.
