Institute for Japanese Studies and East Asian Studies Center Lecture: Career talk with THK Manufacturing

The Institute for Japanese Studies and East Asian Studies Center will present "Working for a Japanese Company: How to Prepare? What to Expect?" on Wednesday, September 13 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Two THK Manufacturing of America, Inc. employees will present: Chie M. Schuller, manager, and Tess Weinberg, corporate translator/interpreter.

Covered topics include:

  • What is a Japanese company looking for? What kind of students are in demand?
  • What is it like to be an interpreter or translator?
  • In addition to Japanese language, what else is necessary to get a job? What skills are needed?
  • What should students do in preparation for their career?
  • What are the keys for success in the job after graduation?
