2022 Ohio Undergraduate REEE Research Forum

Organized by the Center for Slavic, East European and Eurasian Studies (CSEEES) at The Ohio State University, the research forum will highlight the work of upper-level undergraduate students from Ohio who are conducting guided research on any topic in any discipline related to the Eastern European and Eurasian regions.
Eligibility: Junior and senior undergraduate students enrolled at a college or university in the state of Ohio who are or have conducted guided research with a faculty member from their home institution.
Format: The research forum will take place on Tuesday, November 15. A complete presentation will consist of two parts: 1) a brief slide presentation to visually represent their research project, and 2) a recording of themselves talking through their presentation.
- Slide presentation: Students may use software such as PowerPoint, Google Slides etc. to create a visual presentation of their research and argument. Students are limited to a maximum of 4 slides, inclusive of an introductory slide or text. The slides should be designed by the student to summarize their research, including topic, methodology, hypothesis, key conclusions and graphics.
- Recording: The student should then record audio of themselves talking through the presentation and embed it within the file or through software such as Zoom or OBS. This presentation should be no more than 5 minutes long.
Event Details: Participants must submit their presentation to CSEEES (cseees@osu.edu) by Monday, November 7, 10:00 a.m. EST in order to be considered eligible. Judges will review presentations in advance and develop questions for participants. On November 15, a live event open to the public will be held via Zoom. Each presentation will be played and judges will ask the presenters questions.
Judging Criteria: clarity of argument, uniqueness of research, presentation
design and oral articulation.

- Each winner will also receive text resources of their choice specific to their area of research.
