What inspired you to develop and/or lead this study abroad program?

"The comment was made that we, the College of Engineering, needed more study abroad programs, and I stated that I could create one which led to the creation of ENGR 5797.13, Engineering the Castles and Cathedrals of England and Wales."

What did you enjoy, or was most memorable, about being a Resident Director for study abroad?

"I most enjoyed having students develop the same enthusiasm for the various castles and cathedrals that I have."

Why do you think it is important for faculty to develop and/or lead study abroad programs?

"I think it is important that an individual with extensive knowledge and enthusiasm about the subject at hand lead the trip."

How does your study abroad program raise student awareness of what it means to be a global citizen and to have global perspectives?

"This study abroad program has students appreciate the history of England and Wales, and how that history still influences the culture of England and Wales."
