East Asian studies scholarship competitions now open

Louise Loh Scholarship recipient Sarah BuckalewThe East Asian Studies Center announces the availability of applications for the 2019 Louise Zung-Nyi Loh Memorial Scholarship and the Intensive Chinese Language Scholarship. The Louise Loh Scholarship is open to graduate and undergraduate students in any department who have an academic specialization and research interests in East Asian studies. The Intensive Chinese Language Scholarship is designed to accelerate the acquisition of Chinese language skills for future careers related to China. The application deadline for both competitions is March 1, 2019.

Graduate and undergraduate students in any department who have an academic specialization and research interests in East Asian studies in their present or future programs of study are encouraged to apply for the Louise Loh scholarship which ranges from $400 to $1,600. The deadline to apply is March 1, 2019. More information and the application can be found at https://easc.osu.edu/fellowships/graduate/easc.

Applications for the EASC Intensive Chinese Language Scholarship for Summer 2019 or the 2019-2020 academic year are also now available. Designed to accelerate the acquisition of Chinese language skills for future careers related to China, the Intensive Chinese Language Scholarship provides $1,500 in funding for undergraduate students pursuing dual degrees in Chinese language and related fields. Students must have completed first-year Chinese before the start of the scholarship to be eligible. The deadline to apply is March 1, 2019.
