Education abroad allows you to earn academic credit, fulfill requirements in your major, minor or elective coursework; experience hands-on learning and gain invaluable intellectual insight. The Office of International Affairs offers a myriad of study abroad programs for students to choose from, so you can find the one that's the right fit for you. There are several spring break and spring semester programs with deadlines occurring in October and November. The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship is accepting applications for U.S. students studying abroad in 2018.Ohio State alumnus and Gilman scholarship recipient Benjamin Beall in Japan.

The Gilman scholarship is a U.S. Department of State grant program that enables students with limited finances to study or intern abroad. The scholarship is open to U.S. students who receive the Federal Pell Grant at a two-year or four-year college or university to participate in education or intern abroad programs across the globe.
