OliviaSergent webOlivia Sergent, a senior majoring in Japanese, will be studying for a full academic year in Tsukuba, Japan thanks to a $7,000 Freeman Awards for Study in Asia scholarship.

In September Sergent will attend the University of Tsukuba in Tsukuba, Japan and return home August 2020. She said this exchange program will be invaluable to her education, Japanese language skills and will allow her to immerse in Japanese culture and society to a degree that is unattainable by remaining in the United States.

Jera Copley on Global May Uganda education abroad"Global May Uganda was an experience of a lifetime! We were able to learn so much about the culture and the people’s human security through lectures from various professionals and site visits where we got to speak with community members. We had a ton of fun going on a safari, hiking to waterfalls, visiting the equator, making coffee, and so much more! I am so thankful that I got to travel to Uganda with this great group of people!," exclaims pharmaceutical sciences major Jera Copley.

UNADJUSTEDNONRAW thumb 4d07Through classes at a local university, cultural immersion and excursions, Ohio State students have the opportunity to study abroad for a semester or academic year with Centro Internacional de Estudios Culturales (CINECU) in Seville, Spain.

This Hispanic studies program was created and designed in close collaboration with Ohio State’s Department of Spanish and Portuguese, and most credit is pre-approved. The opportunity is geared toward Spanish majors and minors who want to improve their ability to speak, write and understand the Spanish language.
