Columbus 2020 travels to Shanghai

More than 30 Ohio State alumni and current MBA students gathered in Shanghai to hear from members of the Columbus 2020 team, an economic development organization representing the Columbus, Ohio region. Matthew McCollister, vice president for economic development, and Deborah Scherer, director of global markets, spoke to the group about current projects with Chinese companies and shared their outlook, goals and outreach for Columbus.

“The event was an excellent opportunity to continue our strong partnership with Ohio State around the world, while at the same time building awareness of the Columbus Region,” said McCollister.

Columbus 2020 was launched in 2010 to strengthen and diversify the economic base by building existing assets, attracting new investment, creating new business opportunities and continually improving the Columbus Region as a business destination.

The visit was facilitated by Ohio State’s China Gateway, which serves as a liaison between the university and faculty, alumni and students in China.
