To receive news and updates from the China Gateway — including information on international agreements, alumni gatherings, networking events and Ohio State students, faculty and staff in China — please register your interest in the Gateway.

Faculty traveling to China are encouraged to notify Gateway director Phoebe You of their impending visit. The staff at the Shanghai office can help by facilitating focused networking, targeted recruitment and support for scholarly work abroad. The Gateways can also help identify accommodations and provide recommendations and general wayfinding.

The September 2014 issue of China Gateway News features stories about upcoming events and visits, China Gateway Discovery Theme grant recipients, Chinese parent newsletter subscriptions, joining the Buckeye talent pool and a spotlight on alumnus Jared Psigoda. Learn more about how you can connect with and support Ohio State's China Gateway.

In March 2013, the Ohio State Parent and Family Relations office and the China Gateway office collaborated to publish a monthly newsletter in Chinese to send toparents of Chinese students.

“Our monthly newsletters allow parents and students to be connected through the Ohio State experience, even if they are living nearly half a world away. By providing our families in China with information about their students’ lives on campus, we are strengthening a partnership that enhances student success,” said Javaune Adams-Gaston, vice president for Student Life.

Ryan Lovell, senior director of Parent and Family Relations and Greek Life, oversees the content as well as the design pieces of the newsletter. “We want our parents and families involved and connected with their students’ lives. This is especially true for parents who are half a world away and who may never have been to the Ohio State campus. We want you to know what is happening with your student and to experience the life of a Buckeye. We believe the newsletters strengthen the student and family bond by providing a window into life at Ohio State,” said Lovell.
