“The Portuguese Cistern in El Jadida, Morocco is a 16th century underground water reservoir built during the Portuguese rule. It integrates elements of both Moroccan and Portuguese architectural styles. I was drawn to the beam of light shining through the oculus, and reflections of the beautiful columns and arches in the water.”
