Study Abroad Profile: Jenny Wise

Jenny Wise and fellow Spain Global May participantsProgram: Spain Global May: Madrid in the World, the World in Madrid
Location: Madrid, Spain
Rank: Junior
Major: Strategic Communication

“I chose the Spain Global May program partly because one of my friends was applying, but also because I hadn't studied abroad yet and it felt like it was my last chance before graduating!

I think that studying abroad allowed me to not only observe another culture, but gain some perspective on how my own culture fits into the world. When you come back from an adventure like that nothing is ever the same as you left it! It has made me realize that the world is there for the taking.

My favorite memory from my trip was probably going to the San Isidro Festival, which is a really big part of Madrid's culture. We got to see nearly every aspect of the culture and its history in one day full of dancing, laughing and eating delicious foods. I also really enjoyed going to watch a Barcelona Futbol Club championship game!”
