The Office of International Affairs hosts and annual Photography Competition where Ohio State faculty, staff, students and visiting scholars submit photos taken outside of the United States. The 2011 International Photography Competition closed on October 10. Photographers entered one photo in each of four categories: People, Places, Arts/Music and Signs. The International Photography Exhibition, which includes the winning photographs from the competition, is currently on display in the East Art Lounge in the Ohio Union on the main campus during November and December of 2011.
The 2011 International Photography Exhibition on display in the East Art Lounge of the Ohio Union features 41 original photographs taken overseas by 32 Ohio State students, staff, faculty and visiting scholars who come from 9 different countries. An opening reception for the exhibition took place on November 17, 2011. Dieter Wanner, associate provost for global strategies and international affairs, welcomed the audience and spoke of the Caroline Omolesky, immigration coordinator in the Office of International Affairs, announced the winners in each of four categories and announced the Best in Show. The winning photographers were called up to be recognized and to received prizes for their photographs.

The 2011 International Photography Exhibition list of photographs on exhibit in the Art Lounge of the Ohio Union. The Office of International Affairs annual Photography Exhibition features photos taken by Ohio State faculty, staff, students and visiting scholars outside of the United States. In addition to awarding a Best in Show winner, first, second and third place awards were selected in four categories: People, Places, Signs and Arts & Music. Additional honorable mentions were also chosen to include in the exhibit.
All Ohio State University students, staff, faculty and visiting scholars are invited to submit photos to the 2011 International Photography Competition. The competition will open September 1, 2011. Entries will be accepted until 4 p.m. on Monday, October 10, 2011. Complete rules and link to entry form are available after the jump.
