Institute for Chinese studies co-sponsors exhibit on the Chinese in Columbus

Chinese in Columbus: A History is an exhibition on display at the lower level of the Thompson Library from May 30 until August 15. The Ohio State University and the Chinese community in Columbus are celebrating the city's bicentennial. This exhibition will share with the visitors some historical landmarks of Chinese Americans in Columbus.

Chinese in Columbus details the ways in which Chinese Americans, a population of only 0.8% of the city of Columbus, have been contributing to the city's culture and economy, with nationally and internationally significant achievements. This exhibit was created by the Chinese in Columbus Committee: Yung-Chen Lu (鲁永振), Jason Ma (马京升), Chi-lin Yu (俞济琳), Siu-Leung Lee (李兆良), Kuang-hong Hsu (徐贯宏), Yuan-Fang Zheng (郑元芳), Guoqing Li (李国庆), Lin Xu (许琳), Max Xu (徐登科) and Minru Li (李敏儒).

The main sponsors include Chinese Culture Link, Inc., Ohio Contemporary Chinese School, and Asian Festival, and the exhibit is co-sponsored by the Institute for Chinese Studies, the University Libraries, the Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures, the Asian American Studies Program, the Department of History, the National East Asian Languages Resource Center and the Chinese Flagship Program.
