The Francille M. Firebaugh Study Abroad Scholarship was established February 2, 1990 in honor of Francille M. Firebaugh, Vice Provost Emeritus, International Affairs, and Professor Emeritus, Family Resource Management in recognition of her years at Ohio State and her commitment to International Studies. The scholarship was established to enhance the educational experience of Ohio State students by providing study abroad scholarships to deserving students who are currently enrolled at The Ohio State University. Between two (2) or three (3) scholarships will be awarded during the Spring 2011 competition. Each scholarship amount will be between $1,000 and $1,500. See below for scholarship deadlines. Students may only receive the Francille M. Firebaugh Study Abroad Scholarship one time. The Firebaugh Scholarship application deadline for Summer 2012, Autumn 2012 and Academic Year programs 2012-2013 is March, 5, 2012. Application materials will be available on Carmen starting February 3.CriteriaScholarships will be awarded to full-time students attending The Ohio State University in a degree-granting program. Application Deadlines
Application ProcessThe Firebaugh Study Abroad Scholarship no longer accepts paper applications. All application materials will be submitted via Carmen. Once in Carmen, students will be able to upload application files into the dropbox. The Carmen application window will be open for one month prior to the deadline for the scholarship.
Application Requirements
Incomplete applications will not be considered.Selection and NotificationScholarship award notifications will be sent electronically one month after the application deadline. Scholarship funds will post to the awardee’s Statement of Account with the Ohio State Office of Fees and Deposits during the first quarter of the study abroad program. Francille M.
