The Endowed Fund for Short-Term Study Abroad was established November 3, 2000 through the generous support of the Coca-Cola Company. The award is to be used to provide financial support to students who will enhance their educational experience through participation in Ohio State short-term study abroad programs. Up to eight scholarships of $500 to $750 each will be awarded. See below for application deadlines. Students may only receive the Endowed Fund for Short-Term Study Abroad Scholarship one time.

The Endowed Short-Term Study Abroad Scholarship application deadline is March, 5, 2012. This competition is for students who are participating on short term study abroad programs, which occur during Summer 2012, Autumn 2012 or Spring 2013. Application materials will be available on Carmen starting February 3.

Criteria

The Endowed Fund Scholarship will be awarded to full-time students attending The Ohio State University in a degree-granting program. Criteria for consideration include:

  • having a minimum overall GPA of 3.00;
  • being admitted to an Ohio State approved short-term study abroad program;
  • preference will be given to students who can demonstrate financial need.

Please Note: Short term programs are an extension of an on-campus course

Application Deadlines

  • Endowed Short-Term Study Abroad Scholarship deadline is March 5, 2012.

Application Process

The Endowed Short-Term Study Abroad Scholarship no longer accepts paper applications. All application materials will be submitted via Carmen. Once in Carmen, students will be able to upload application files into the dropbox. The Carmen application window will be open for one month prior to the deadline for the scholarship.

  1. Log into Carmen
  2. Click on the "Join" link in the top navigation bar (next to Calendar)
  3. Read JOIN Instructions and click on "Join" link
  4. Select "Short-Term Scholarship SP 12"
  5. Fill in Registration information
  6. The scholarship is listed in Spring 2012 --> International Affairs
  7. Scholarship submission instructions are in the Content section

A complete scholarship application package consists of

  1. Completed 2 Page Endowed Short-Term Study Abroad Application;
  2. Copy of your advising report.
Incomplete Applications and/or applications for ineligible study abroad programs will not be considered

Selection and Notification

Scholarship award notifications will be sent electronically one month after the application deadline. Scholarship funds will post to the awardee’s Statement of Account with the Ohio State Office of Fees and Deposits during the first quarter of the study abroad program.
