Ohio State Faculty and Professionals

Ohio State faculty and professional staff are eligible to apply for the Fulbright Scholar Program. Interested Ohio State faculty and professional staff may contact International Affairs to discuss these programs.

Fulbright Scholar Program

The Fulbright Scholar Program is administered by the Council for International Exchange of Scholars and is sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State. The Fulbright Scholar Program is comprised of many different awards that offer teaching, research or combination teaching/research awards in over 125 countries for the 2014-15 academic year.  Opportunities are available for faculty and administrators as well as for professionals, artists, journalists, scientists, lawyers, independent scholars and many others.

In addition to the Traditional Fulbright Scholar, Distinguished Chair and Specialists programs, the Council for International Exchange of Scholars (CIES) initiated four new awards. The Flex Award, Postdoctoral/Early Career, Salary Stipend Supplements and Teaching English as a Foreign Language are all programs that address the changing needs and interests of today's scholars.

Deadline to apply for many of the 2015-16 Fulbright Scholar Awards is August 1, 2014.
