Neckermann Scholarships Awarded for Study in Germany PDF Print

The Office of International Affairs recently awarded the Jutta and Peter Neckermann Study Abroad Scholarship to eight undergraduate students. The students have been accepted into study abroad programs in Germany that include a wide range of disciplines from language to the applied sciences.

This year's recipients of the $500 scholarship are:

  • Nathan Biglin - German language program in Dresden
  • Christopher Boron - Fachhochschule at Potsdam University of Applied Science
  • Kathryn Carison - Hochschule für Gestaltung, University of Applied Sciences, in Schwäbisch Gmünd
  • David DeMiglio - Integrated studies program at the University of Bonn
  • Melissa Hoppes - German language program in Dresden
  • Alyea Kociuruba - German language program in Dresden
  • Suzanna Slavik - Student exchange program in design at the Hochschule in Darmstadt
  • Alexander Wikerson - Integrated studies program at the University of Bonn

The scholarship was established May 1, 1998 with the gift to The Ohio State University from Peter and Jutta Neckermann of Columbus, Ohio to enhance the educational experience of deserving Ohio State students by providing scholarships for study abroad programs in Germany.
