Third grade students visit Ohio State on Earth Day to explore social studies issues PDF Print

Earth Day 2008 Logo Fifteen third grade students are coming to Ohio State on Earth Day, April 22, to learn about international trade, global health, study abroad and sustainable development. The Harambee Christian School students are exploring social studies issues through numerous educational activities created by university staff and student experts.

The Center for African Studies will teach an interactive lesson on fair trade questions with cocoa and coffee. The Office of International Affairs will discuss study and travel abroad opportunities. Students from the Global Health Initiative at OSU will teach the elementary school children about organizations and extra-curricular activities, as well as present an introduction to the topic of global public health. Students for Sustainable Development will explore global public health issues and organizations, sustainable development and an Earth Day celebration.

The educational visit to campus is made possible by The Ohio State University P-12 Project and the Office of International Affairs Global School Bus program. For more information, contact Outreach Coordinator Saba Sohail.
