Faculty and Student Grant Competition - Spring 2008Purpose: The purpose of the Office of International Affairs faculty and student grant competition is to promote the understanding of foreign countries, cultures, and peoples through academic study. Projects: Grants will be given for projects that explore the languages, cultures, arts, politics, economy, or socio-demographic aspects of a foreign region. Proposals addressing global issues are also eligible if these issues are explored in a regional context. This includes, for example, proposals about public health, public policy, and climate change. Use: International Affairs grants can be used to support two types of activities:
Faculty, as well as graduate and undergraduate students, can submit proposals in either category. Application Contents
Proposals for student programs are judged first and foremost on their academic quality. The importance of the opportunity they provide to Ohio State students is also considered. Proposals must include:
