The Endowed Fund for Short-Term Study Abroad was established November 3, 2000 through the generous support of the Coca-Cola Company. The award is to be used to provide financial support to students who will enhance their educational experience through participation in Ohio State short-term study abroad programs. Twelve to fifteen (12-15) scholarships in the amount of $500 each will be awarded throughout the academic year 2008-2009. See below for application deadlines. Students may only receive the Endowed Fund for Short-Term Study Abroad Scholarship one time.

We are accepting applications beginning October 3, 2008. Please review the scholarship requirements below for more information regarding the application process.

Criteria

The Endowed Fund Scholarship will be awarded to full-time students attending The Ohio State University in a degree-granting program. Criteria for consideration include:

• having a minimum overall GPA of 3.00;
• being admitted to an Ohio State approved short-term study abroad program;
• preference will be given to students who can demonstrate financial need.
  

Application Deadlines

• Friday, October 31, 2008 for Winter and/or Spring 2009 Programs

• Friday April 10, 2009 for Summer 2009 and Academic Year 2009-2010 Programs
  

Application Process

The Endowed Short-Term Study Abroad Scholarship no longer accepts paper applications. All application materials will be submitted via Carmen. Once in Carmen, students will be able to upload application files into the dropbox. The Carmen application window will be open for one month prior to the deadline for the scholarship which is Friday, October 31, 2008 for Winter and/or Spring 2009 study abroad programs.

2. Click on the "Join" link in the top navigation bar (next to Calendar)
   
3. Read JOIN Instructions and click on "Join" link
   
4. Select "Short-Term Scholarship AU 08"
5. Fill in Registration information
6. The scholarship is listed in Special --> Study Abroad
   
7. Scholarship submission instructions are in the Content section
    
   

A complete scholarship application package consists of 

1. Completed Endowed Short-Term Study Abroad Application;
2. One-page typed statement addressing the relevance of this particular study abroad program to your academic, professional and personal goals and your need for financial support for the study abroad program; your name and the name of the study abroad program for which you have applied for and quarter/s you will be studying abroad should be placed at the top of your personal statement.
3. Copy of your advising report.
