OSU Financial Aid PDF Print

Financial Aid is available for students who participate in a study abroad program. However, you must be formally accepted into a study abroad program through the Office of International Affairs before aid eligibility can be determined. The Office of International Affairs will provide you with a budget sheet detailing the costs of your study abroad. This budget sheet, in combination with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), OSU Scholarship Application and other elements, will be used to calculate how much money you will be awarded for the quarter you plan to study abroad.

Types of Financial Aid

The following types of financial aid can be used towards a study abroad program:

  • Alternative Loan
  • Direct Student Loans
  • Ohio Instructional Grant
  • Ohio State Merit Scholarships
  • Ohio State Need-based Scholarships
  • Parent (PLUS) Loan
  • Pell Grant
  • Perkins Loan
  • SEOG Grant
  • University Loan
