Global School Bus Program

The Global School Bus program taps into the knowledge, experience and expertise of international students and scholars, study abroad alumni, faculty and staff with international cultural experiences. Teachers, community and government agencies may request speakers from the Office of International Affairs international education outreach program. The Office of International Affairs has a large pool of speakers who are proficient at engaging a variety of audiences and leading activities to help groups learn about other countries and their cultures. They come prepared with materials and relevant artifacts to share with their audience in the learning process.

To request a speaker, contact us at global101@osu.edu or call Saba Sohail, outreach coordinator, at (614) 292-6053. Speakers must be requested at least two weeks prior to the date of the event.

Businesses, government agencies and community groups may request a speaker using this form; P-16 educators may request a speaker using this form.

Looking for Global School Bus Volunteers

Would you like to share your international experience with others?

You can share information, photographs and artifacts, interact with students and other groups and lead activities that will help others learn about the country you know.

This program offers a rewarding chance for those with international experiences to visit K-12 classrooms, community groups and government agencies around central Ohio to educate them about various cultures and foreign countries.

We can work with you to find a date and time that meets your busy schedule. Our program offers training for all its volunteers and a chance to meet other individuals with international experience.

The Office of International Affairs also provides volunteer speakers with orientation and training workshops twice per academic year. These sessions give volunteers a chance to get to know each other and our staff. We help familiarize them with the resources available and about the American P-12 educational system, and how to present cultural material in this setting.
