Ohio State President E. Gordon Gee recognized the 32 students and faculty members from Ohio State who are recent Fulbright and Fulbright-Hayes recipients during a reception at the Faculty Club on February 20, 2008. Pat Osmer, Dean of the Graduate School and Richard Herrmann, Director of the Mershon Center for International Security and Director of Academic Programs for the Office of International Affairs, also congratulated the honorees on their accomplishments and wished them well in their future academic endeavors.

Fulbright ReceptionFour Fulbright recipients had the opportunity to share some highlights of their experiences and discuss the impact that the Fulbright has had on their lives. The group heard from: Maria Fernanda Polit, a foreign Fulbright Fellow from Ecuador; Richard Price, a U.S. Fulbright student, who traveled to Spain; Blerta Mustafa, a foreign Fulbright Scholar from Kosovo; and Karl Danneberger, a U.S. Senior Specialist, who went to Portugal.

Fulbright ReceptionAll of the scholars recognized at the president’s second annual reception will be conducting research abroad, working with international colleagues or lecturing to promote general global welfare. Ohio State is extremely proud to be home this year to more Fulbright faculty scholars than any other university in Ohio. There also are 16 foreign Fulbright fellows visiting Ohio State this year working in a variety of disciplines.
