- Costs include travel and living expenses abroad.
- Students receive academic credit in the same quarter as the pre-departure class and receive credit for both the course and abroad experience.
Co-sponsored programs - Overseas programs are managed by another U.S. or foreign institution, which makes these programs available to Ohio State students.
- Ohio State students are enrolled along with students from other U.S. or foreign universities.
- Classes are taught either in English, or in the language of the host country.
- Programs range in length from one semester to an academic year.
- Costs vary according to destination and length of stay.
- Students must have courses evaluated to establish Ohio State equivalencies through the "Evaluation of Credit" and visits to the Transfer Credit Coordinators in various academic departments.
International Exchange programs (IEPs) - Programs involve an actual exchange of students. Ohio State students study at an overseas institution, while students from the overseas institution study at Ohio State.
- Exchange programs are designed for 3rd and 4th-year students, who are selected by an interview committee.
- Programs range in length from one semester to an academic year.
- Exchange students pay Ohio State tuition and administrative fee, plus travel and living expenses.
Students earn graded academic credit for their study abroad courses.
