Currently Enrolled Students

Students must notify the Office of the University Registrar of their U.S. address within 30 days of initial enrollment at The Ohio State University and within ten days of any subsequent address change so that International Affairs can report it to SEVIS. This can be done via the Registrar’s on-line services web site at BuckeyeLink. The address under the "Local/Dorm" tab is the one that is reported to SEVIS as your current U.S. address. Please note that you MAY NOT use a P.O. BOX for this address. SEVIS requires the street address where the student and his or her dependents physically reside. Also, verify that the address under the “SEVIS” tab is correct because International Affairs reports that address to SEVIS as your permanent address in your home country.

NOTE: Failure to update your address in the required time frame may result in termination of your immigration status.

Students Not Currently Enrolled

If you meet one of the following conditions, you should update your address by sending an e-mail to iss@oia.osu.edu.

• You have graduated and are participating in OPT
• You are on full-time CPT and not enrolled during your internship
• You have a credit hour reduction on file with Office of International Affairs authorizing you not to be enrolled

Even if you are able to log in to the Registrar’s web site, your address will not be reported to SEVIS if you are not enrolled.
